A 36-acre business park is to be developed at Kildean in Stirling.

A council spokesperson said the announcement would further Stirling's reputation as a "great business location".

Stirling Development Agency (SDA), the council's 50/50 joint venture with real estate investment managers Valad Europe, has acquired the land, just off Junction 10 of the M9.

Kildean Business Park will provide 400,000 sq ft for the development of modern offices, including a headquarters building of up to 100,000 sq ft, along with retail and leisure space. It will be almost double the size of nearby Castle Business Park.

SDA director, councillor Neil Benny, said: "The acquisition of 36 acres of land from The Crown Estate provides an excellent location to develop Kildean Business Park. With detailed planning consent already in place for the initial infrastructure works, the dedicated link from the Kildean roundabout has been completed and work will start soon for the provision of a family pub and restaurant as well as a children's nursery."

Councillor John Hendry said Stirling offered an "unparalleled work-life balance".
