Approximately £350,000 of materials to carry out high quality environmental improvements at Dundee waterfront could be ordered if councillors agree.
The significant lead in time associated with the high quality paving materials for the works means that orders have to be placed well in advance.
Will Dawson, convener of Dundee City Council's city development committee said: "We want to make sure that works are carried out to coincide with the redevelopment of the former Tay Hotel and opening of the Malmaison Hotel.
"With work at the hotel proceeding well and the scheduled opening in May next year, it is important that we have the materials to be able to create a fitting environment for the revamped building."
Environmental improvements are planned for Dock Street, Whitehall Crescent and Shore Terrace, as part of the Central Waterfront development.
