A Scottish company that started out as a family firm has opened its 18th store.

Rembrand Timber has been in business for 30 years and its workforce has grown to more than 180 people.

The company opened a new site at Skye last month, which will create five jobs.

The west coast was previously covered by Rembrand branches in Oban and Inverness, and the new shop will service the islands and improve distribution channels throughout the west, the company said.

Marketing manager Annie Allen said: "We're a true Scottish success story. We believe this store opening is a positive story for the construction, self-build and DIY industry."

Rembrand sells timber, tools, building products, windows, bathrooms and joinery products instore and online.
