Plans have been unveiled for a new cafe and footbridge at a park in the Borders.
The £3m revamp of Wilton Lodge park in Hawick would also see the band stand reinstated and a playpark built, along with a classroom for school visits.
Some money would also go towards renovating the park's war memorials.
It is hoped the Heritage Lottery Fund will contribute a grant of £2.6m, and Scottish Borders Council has pledged £600,000.
The council's project manager Philippa Gilhooly said they were planning to open up the views throughout the park so that visitors could see how beautiful the park was with improved lighting and signage.
She added that the walled garden was likely to be restored and an area set aside for community food production.
It is anticipated that a decision from the Heritage Lottery Fund will be made by the end of the year.
