Plans for a housing development in Dumferline will be on show this afternoon.

Members of the public are invited to comment on the draft planning application for North Rod, a development off Pittsburgh Road.

Three quarters of the housing would be private but those owned by Fife Council are intended to address housing needs.

The council properties will range from one bedroom to four bedrooms in size and include some wheelchair-accessible and amenity housing.

The planning application for the properties has not yet been submitted but the council would like local people to give their views at a drop-in event at Halbeath Community Leisure Centre today (Thursday June 21) between 4pm and 7pm.

Derek Muir, Head of Fife Council's Housing & Neighbourhood Services, said: "Representatives from the Council's Design and Housing teams will be there to discuss the plans and answer any questions people may have about what we intend to submit for planning approval. We are looking for early feedback on our initial proposal to ensure that we are taking the needs and concerns of local residents into consideration. The outcome of this will potentially help us shape the application."
