A South Lanarkshire family business has won an internationally-recognised quality mark for one of its fire protection systems.
The BAFE SP203 part 1 system, a means of installing and maintaining fire detection and alarm devices, has been bestowed the voluntary Kitemark licence.
Automatic Protection Limited (APL), of Biggar, will now be regularly inspected to ensure quality and safety.
Father and son team Neil and Stuart Harrison established APL in January 2001.
The company offers design, installation, commission and maintenance of automatic fire extinguishing and suppression systems.
It is a specialist in the niche market of gaseous suppression systems, from room integrity testing and system design right through to installation.
Stuart Harrison, director, said the certification was trusted for its independence.
He said: "We pride ourselves in providing our customers with the very best quality products and service so that they are assured of a level of service unmatched by many others in the industry. In this competitive market, we must keep ahead and Kitemark certification – because of its independence, integrity and trust – gives our products and company a real competitive advantage."
