The keys of a £29m Stirling campus have been handed over to the college's principal.

Main contractors Miller Construction presented the key to Forth Valley College’s Linda McKay and Director of Estates Tim Gorman, marking the completion of the campus at East Kildean.

Some staff and learners have already moved from the former Kerse Road campus and are taking advantage of state-of-the-art facilities, modern interiors and riverside views.

The campus will open fully in August, offering tuition with a focus on construction, creative industries, hospitality, culture and tourism.

It boasts high specification conference and event facilities and leaders hope to offer nearby businesses tailored training solutions.

Mrs McKay said: "We are delighted with our fantastic new campus and it's a pleasure to officially receive the key today. The building really is spectacular and I don't think we could have possibly found a more beautiful location. The new campus will allow us to build our profile in Stirling and also deliver more courses than ever before. Our vision is to play a key role in the future success of the local area."

Following on from the launch of Forth Valley College's Alloa campus last year, Mrs McKay thanked Miller Construction for building both campuses "to a very high standard".

She said: "We are over the moon with what has been achieved."
