A £54m medical research centre has been opened at the University of Edinburgh.
The purpose-built Scottish Centre for Regenerative Medicine was officially unveiled yesterday by HRH the Princess Royal.
The Centre, designed by Sheppard Robson, will hold up to 250 stem cell scientists in darker rooms towards the centre of the building and larger lighter rooms just inside the outer walls.
This layout will allow for writing-up space to be well-ventilated and naturally lit, while laboratory spaces where less light is required can be further towards the middle of the building.
Buro Happold and Miller Construction also worked on the 8,700sq/m building.
