A Blairgowrie-based family business has been passed on to the new generation.

Keira Proctor has taken over as Managing Director at the A. Proctor Group, which provides insulation, cladding and sound-proofing to the construction industry.

She takes over from her father, Allan, who took the post from his own father in 1982 but is now stepping down due to health problems.

A spokesman for the firm noted the main achievements of Allan's 20-year tenure as being the growth of turnover, a fast-track product development route, diversification and the acquisition of new companies.

He said it was Allan's wish to "retain the company culture, therefore to ensure continuity and stability of the organisation".

Keira has been working for the A. Proctor Group for eight years and joins the Managing Director post from the role of Sales Director.

Keira said: "My vision for the A. Proctor Group going forward is to develop our portfolio of products and services to lead the company through the challenging economic times. Working closely with our suppliers and customers, we look forward to continued growth."

Allan Proctor will continue to play an active role in the company by becoming Chairman of the Board of Directors.
