Glasgow Riverside Museum is in the running to win the £100,000 Art Fund Prize 2012.

The Museum, at which Mivan delivered a £5m interiors package as Principal Contractor, has been long listed for the Art Fund Prize 2012.

This is the UK’s annual museum of the year award, and the biggest prize for the arts and cultural organizations in the country.

The Riverside Museum: Scotland's Museum of Transport and Travel opened in June 2011 and has already attracted more than 1 million visitors.

The Art Fund Prize 2012 rewards excellence and innovation in museums and galleries in the UK for a project completed or undertaken in 2011. Following a shortlist of 4 museums to be announced on 14 May, the £100,000 cash prize will be awarded to the Museum of the Year at the British Museum on 19 June.

The Museum has also been short listed for the Building Awards 2012 in the Public Building of the year category. The winner will be announced at the awards ceremony to be held on 18 April at Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, London.
