Global semiconductor company Broadcom has moved into Westport 102, a landmark Grade A building in the heart of Edinburgh’s Exchange District.
Broadcom has signed a 10 year lease with break option at year five for 6,135 sq ft on the 5th floor. The move sees Broadcom relocate 28 staff from its previous premises at MWB Business Centre on St Andrew’s Square.
Completed in 2009, Westport 102 is a prominent landmark building, located in a pivotal position in the Exchange District, offering Grade A office accommodation over ground and six upper floors. 75,000 sq ft remains in the building between 1st and 5th floors, offering floor plates of around 15,000 sq ft which can be sub-divided to suit requirements. Broadcom joins a list of other high profile tenants in the building including Quayle Munro and Sainsbury.
Geoff Scott of Jones Lang LaSalle commented: "Broadcomsought space ofthe highest quality in the city centre, which Westport 102 delivers. The suite acquired offers stunning panoramic views over the city and Edinburgh Castle. This, coupled with the financial packageand convenient location, made Westport 102 an easy choice for the company."
Peter I'Anson, partner at Ryden, said: "This letting follows on the heels of the earlier success of Quayle Munro and Sainsbury. Broadcom is an important letting for the building cementing the quality of the space and the owner’s ability to react and deliver competitive deals to occupiers. Ryden and joint agents Jones Lang LaSalle can structure competitive and flexible transactions within available floor space from 6,000 – 70,000 sq ft. Rents within the building range from £20 per sq ft rising throughout the building to £26 per sq ft within the remaining 8,000 sq ft on the 5th floor."
Ryden acted on behalf of the landlord Westport SARL, whilst Jones Lang LaSalle represented Broadcom.
