Irvine Bay Regeneration Company has welcomed the announcement of a £100 million investment in Scotland by pharmaceuticals giant GlaxoSmithKline.
The money, to be split between the firm’s plants in Irvine and Montrose, will see an expansion in production at both sites and will create between 100-200 jobs between the two sites over the next few years.
Patrick Wiggins, Chief Executive of Irvine Bay, said: "This is very welcome news for Irvine, and is a clear indication of the company’s confidence in its workforce in North Ayrshire and in the willingness of the authorities here to work with the company in a constructive and positive way."
