Land Securities Bring Primark To The Centre

Shoppers in West Lothian have welcomed the opening of the first Primark in the area.

The leading High Street retailer launched at the region's top shopping destination, The Centre, Livingston, on Wednesday 7 December.

The arrival of Primark, which offers quality commercial fashion at affordable prices, has been eagerly awaited by visitors to The Centre.

The latest addition to the Primark portfolio will be situated over three floors at The Centre.

The opening of the 49,100 sq ft store is well ahead of schedule and is expected to be a big hit with shoppers in the area, especially during the busy Christmas period.

Securing yet another popular retailer for The Centre, after the success of top brands including Topshop, Superdry, Marks & Spencer and Debenhams, is a further demonstration of the commitment of owner Land Securities to the region.

Breege O’Donoghue, director of Primark, said: "We are delighted to be opening our latest store in Livingston. The Centre is the ideal location for our new store and we look forward to welcoming customers on Wednesday, December 7."

Katherine Armstead, Land Securities Portfolio Manager for Scotland, said: "Shoppers will be delighted that Primark is opening in early December – in time for the Christmas shopping rush.

"Primark will be a welcomed addition to The Centre and will appeal to shoppers in West Lothian and further afield not only because the collections are very affordable, but also because of its high fashion offering.

"The Centre has undergone an extensive £130 million redevelopment programme in recent years and is now positioned as one of the country's leading retail destinations as demonstrated through the breadth of loyal retailers on offer."
