Regeneration work in Irvine Bay continues to benefit from the work of an organisation charged with promoting the interests of people with a disability.

The annual general meeting of North Ayrshire Access Panel held this week, heard that the group had provided significant input to the development of the new Grange Business Centre in Stevenston, and was also deeply involved in the ongoing work to revitalise Irvine town centre involving a partnership between Irvine Bay Regeneration Company and North Ayrshire Council.

As well as panel members, the meeting at the Michael Lynch Centre in Ardrossan was attended Kenny Gibson MSP; James Ledgerwood, Irvine Bay Regeneration Company; Patrick Robbertze, Rivergate Shopping Centre and representatives of North Ayrshire Council.

The meeting also heard praise for the work done by the Rivergate Shopping Centre over the last 12 months to ensure a high level of access provision was maintained, especially the support given by centre staff to people with visual impairments.
