Contractor Wins Glasgow Office Development

Bowmer and Kirkland has been appointed contractor for a major commercial multi-million pound office development for Glasgow city centre.

Abstract (Glasgow) Ltd is to build 170,000sq ft of 'Grade A' office space after acquiring a site on St Vincent Street.

The speculative development has been named provisionally as St Vincent Plaza with the building to comprise a basement, ground and 10 upper floors together with 78 car parking spaces after a detailed planning application was submitted, following extensive discussions with Glasgow City Council.

Construction is expected to start in the spring and complete in the third quarter of 2013, ahead of Glasgow's Commonwealth Games the following year.

St Vincent Plaza has been designed by Glasgow-based Keppie Design.
