Plans have been unveiled to build a new village consisting of 495 homes on the land around the former Scottish Agricultural College (SAC) building in Ayrshire.
The Grade A listed Oswald Hall on the Auchincruive estate near Ayr, has been put up for sale for £1m.
Along with developers AWG Property Ltd, SAC's proposals, approved in principle by South Ayrshire Council, include a business centre, a golf course and equestrian centre.
Designed by Robert Adam, the house was built in 1767 by Robert Oswald, a chief negotiator during the American War of Independence.
The SAC has owned it since 1927, though the college it housed has now relocated to Ayr.
