Carnoustie Appoints Road Works Contractor

The contractor to undertake major road construction work in Carnoustie has been announced.

DJ Laing Contracts is set to carry out maintenance on a section of Barry Road in Carnoustie next week.

The road will be closed between Westfield Street and Victoria Street for five weeks while the carriageway from James Street to Victoria Street is reconstructed and repair is carried out on the section of the road between James Street and Westfield Street.

While the work is underway traffic will be diverted via Westfield Street, Thomas Street and Victoria Street and improvements to the road drainage will also be carried out.

DJ Laing Contracts was established in 1975, and it currently employs around 150 staff with an additional 50 experienced subcontractors.

Originating from plant hire and general contracting, having diversified into waste management and private house building, the civil engineering contracts remains the core business of the group.
