Morris & Spottiswood Scoops Double Co-Op Property Awards

A leading construction services company has won two awards at Co-operative Food's first Property Awards in Manchester last week

Morris & Spottiswood won an award for 'Community Champion', in recognition of their support for the communities they work in.

They also picked up an award for 'Outstanding Individual Contribution of the Year', which went to Richard Magnall, based at Morris & Spottiswood's Warrington office.

The Co-operative's judges said: "Richard's passion for all things Co-operative means he is regularly consulted by others on best practice and how to implement improvements."

The company was also one of four shortlisted for the 'Outstanding Organisation of the Year' category.

The 10 awards, which recognise the support and specific contribution from The Co-operative Food’s property suppliers, were presented by host Vernon Kay at a ceremony held at Lancashire County Cricket Club.

The event was in aid of The Co-operative Group's charity of the Year Mencap and ENABLE Scotland.

Morris & Spottiswood Chief Executive, Chris Saxton, commented: "This is a great recognition by the Co-operative to all our teams who have been involved and contributed so much in delivering the Co-operative roll out workload."

Morris & Spottiswood has carried out over 200 Co-operative Food store refits in the North of England and Scotland, ranging from 1,200 sq ft to almost 10,000 sq ft.

The majority of works have been carried out in live environments, with the stores remaining open for trade.

They also provide a reactive and planned maintenance service for stores throughout Scotland and Cumbria.
