A massive £37 million refurbishment of the Royal Commonwealth pool is currently underway.
It will be open to host the diving competition for the 2014 Commonwealth Games. The project also includes a changing "village" with family facilities, a brand new dry play area for children, poolside showers, heated benches next to pools, and a revamped cafe.
Insulation and underfloor heating is also being laid to approximately 3,000m2 (30,000sqft) of the main pool, training and diving pool surrounds and changing areas, using approx. 12.5Km of pipe.
The underfloor heating is being installed by Anderson Floor Warming And Renewables, who have been at the forefront of the UK underfloor heating and plumbing market for over 10 years.
Also involved in the refurbishment are S&P Architects, services engineers Buro Happold, main contractor Graham Construction and mechanical contractor Blackbourne Integrated M&E.
