Resurfacing Work To Commence In Inverness

Three resurfacing projects in Inverness are to be completed by the council during the school holidays to minimise disruption to road users.

A contract has been awarded to Leiths (Scotland) Ltd., with an estimated value of £120,000.

Weather permitting, resurfacing work will take place in the following areas; Glendoe Terrace, between Carse Road and Benula Road, on Monday 10th and Tuesday 11th October; Bishops Road, between Glenurquhart Rd and Ballifeary Rd, on Tuesday 11th and Wednesday 12th October; Lochalsh Road from Grant Street to near Telford Street, and sections of Dunabban Street.

Work will start on Wednesday 12th October, and completed by Tuesday 18th October.

A spokesman said: "We've taken the opportunity to do this work when the schools are off, when traffic is reduced. Road closures are being arranged and traffic management options discussed with the aim of minimising disruption. We will advise local residents and businesses of the full details of the temporary traffic management arrangement as soon as we can.

"Disruption is unavoidable and we seek the cooperation of local residents and business people to find alternative parking as the work progresses. To minimise disruption we would ask that wherever possible, drivers who use these roads find an alternative route during the work."
