Due to site complications, the construction of the new Langfaulds Roundabout on Duntocher Road at Baljaffray Road will take longer than programmed.

Localised drainage issues and complications relating to underground power cables have held up progress and all efforts are being made to catch up and to have the work completed by mid August before the end of the school holidays.

Head of Roads and Neighbourhood Services David Devine said, “Unfortunately when constructing roads unforeseen issues can arise. The drainage problems encountered required the contractor to carry out additional excavations and complications concerning utility works have taken up time.

“I’d like to apologise to drivers in Milngavie and Bearsden for the delays caused and to assure motorists that everything is being done in meeting the revised mid August completion date.

“In the meantime three way temporary traffic signals will remain in operation on Duntocher Road at its junction with Baljaffray Road and these are manually controlled between 7am-7pm every day to ease traffic flow, although regrettably delays at peak times are still likely and drivers should consider taking an alternative route where possible.”
