Mansell's airport team has worked with Balfour Beatty Construction to complete the £40 million airside expansion of Edinburgh Airport's main terminal building to include an extensive lounge area.
The contract was procured through the BAA Value in Partnership Framework Agreement.
Mansell worked closely to deliver the reconfiguration of the existing stands to enable the ground works and structural steel frame to be installed. This included the provision of new node structures, links and gate rooms. We also completed the mechanical and engineering design for the project.
During the 111 week project the main terminal building and activities remained operational throughout. Passenger safety was, of course, the number one priority. Secure tunnels were provided allowing passengers to get to their departure gates.
