Traffic Flow To Be Reduced During Bridge Refurb

Aberdeenshire Council will begin refurbishment of the Banchory-Devenick Bridge next week, for fourteen weeks.

Work on the single-span masonry arch bridge will start on Monday, July 4 and is expected to cost around £205,000.

The scheme includes the installation of anchors to consolidate the bridge wingwalls, which are essential for the overall stability of the bridge itself.

Further works to reinstate the downstream embankment and approach wall on the Durris side will be carried out immediately after the anchors are installed.

The B9077 over Banchory-Devenick Bridge will remain open throughout the works, with traffic flow reduced to one-way, using temporary traffic lights.

A spokesman for Aberdeenshire Council said: “This work has become necessary and we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

“With work beginning on Monday we aim to complete the project in October.”
