A consultation on improving Inverclyde’s housing over the next five years has been launched.

Local residents, agencies and businesses are being asked for their opinions as Inverclyde Council prepares its next Local Housing Strategy to determine how housing will be provided and services delivered until 2016.

The Local Housing Strategy sets out how many houses are to be built for sale or for rent in Inverclyde and where they will be located. Policies will help to provide access and improve the quality of available housing and offer support for people in their homes when needed.

Consultations were carried out in 2009 and 2010 where residents and agencies were asked what they wanted to see in the future strategy. Responses have been used to draw up the current draft document.

Inverclyde Council is now asking for further comment before proposals are implemented.

The consultation ends on Friday 12 August 2011.
