Wind Turbine Development Subject To Planning Process

Angus Council has responded to speculation regarding the development of wind turbines in the Montrose area.

A council spokesperson said: “The council’s Corporate Services Committee (Thursday 10 March) approved the report detailing the progress made with an option agreement with Partnerships for Renewables Ltd.

“The report outlined the work undertaken so far in identifying sites owned by Angus Council which may be suitable for the generation of renewable electricity.

“The report was considered in private as it contained commercially sensitive information relating to an external organisation.

“The council would like to make clear that any wind turbine development proposed by Partnerships for Renewables Ltd would be subject to the usual planning process and public consultation.

“No such planning application has been submitted to or has been considered by the council at this time.”
