The new look castle square in Stranraer has been unveiled.
An opening ceremony was held in the town on Tuesday the 22 of February.
In attendance was Alex Neil Scottish Government Minister for Housing and Communities and Colin McLean Head of the Heritage Lottery Fund, Scotland.
Stranraer was lucky enough to benefit from the Scottish Government's Town Centre Regeneration Fund to the tune of £790k and this together with a further £1/2 million of Council funding has made the work to the square and surrounding streets possible.
The castle has also been restored with over £288k of funding from the Heritage Lottery.
To mark the occasion, shoppers were treated to a feast of entertainment, including live music, jugglers, pipers and theatre performances. It is hoped that the new look square will play host to events which will bring people into the town centre.
