NEL Offers Complimentary Session to Oil and Gas Operators

Scottish based NEL, a leading provider of pipeline fluid management services to the global petroleum industry, is calling on all oil and gas operators to attend the hydrocarbon flow measurement workshop and exhibition at Hotel InterContinental, (formally Hotel Nikko) Kuala Lumpur (8-10 March 2011), as it marks its tenth year with a complimentary discovery session for oil and gas measurement engineers.

The workshop is the only major forum dedicated to addressing the changes in flow measurement which will affect the SE Asia region, paying particular attention to developments in technology, regulation and practice to advise operators in a difficult economic climate. The complimentary workshop on Wednesday, 9th March (from 10.30 to 12.30) will give operators the opportunity to meet exhibitors and find out about the latest technologies on the market.

Alick MacGillivray, Workshop Chairman from NEL commented: “This is an excellent opportunity to give operators a chance to find out more about hydrocarbon flow management developments, both from a technical stance and from an economic stance. The market has understandably been tough in recent times, despite high economic investment, and we see this as an opportunity for operators to attend a free ‘snapshot’ of the exhibition as we address change and challenges, whilst anticipating what is next for the market.

“Information and knowledge sharing opportunities with fellow operators, regulators, equipment suppliers, engineering contractors, service companies and researchers provide an all encompassing overview of the hydrocarbon flow management market, and will help to make participants better equipped to meet the challenges faced by the industry now and in the future.”

The keynote speaker for the workshop has been announced as Encik Abu Fitri bin Abdul Jalil, Senior General Manager from PETRONAS. The workshop will also be accompanied by an Ultrasonic Metering Training Course on 7th March and a training session on Introduction to Commercial Metering Uncertainty on 8th March from 09.00 to 11.30.
