Angus Council has been successful in obtaining further grant funding of £16,000 from the Scottish Government, to help with installation of insulation measures in the council’s housing stock.

This is in addition to the £32,000 grant already sourced, bringing the total to £48,000 for the current financial year.

The grant will help the council to continue its programme of improvement works including loft and cavity insulation, which will contribute to reducing tenants’ fuel bills.

Councillor Jim Millar, Angus Council’s Convener of Neighbourhood Services said: “The council is delighted that more homes in Angus will benefit from lower fuel bills as a result of this additional funding.

“With energy prices still on the rise, and with the cold winter we are experiencing, it is especially important that we do all we can to upgrade insulation and make it easier for householders to keep their homes warm.”
