East Dunbartonshire Council’s Property Maintenance team received the thumbs up from the Scottish Housing Regulator recently.
The Regulator acknowledged the Council had taken steps to address issues previously set out in the Council’s Repairs Improvement Plan.
Development & Infrastructure Convener, Councillor Billy Hendry said: “This report clearly demonstrates the progress Property Maintenance has made towards the corporate objective of continuous improvement and performance during 2009/10.
“We were advised to tighten up procedures in certain areas following an inspection from Communities Scotland in 2007. This we have done over the past 18 months to the extent the Regular no longer wishes to inspect the service. Congratulations to all the team.”
A recent publication of benchmarking from the Scottish Housing Best Value Network (SHBVN) showed East Dunbartonshire was comparing well with other local authorities:
· 83% of repairs were carried out compared to SHBVN average of 46%
· 98% of Property Maintenance appointments kept compared to 87%
· 99% of emergency repairs on time compared with SHBVN average of 94%
