Community groups and organisations are being urged to apply for Stirling Council's Community Grant Scheme to help with the funding of local projects.
So far this year, Stirling Council has awarded grants to nearly sixty community and voluntary groups to deliver a wide variety of community projects.
Projects include support to sports clubs for equipment, team building outings and community festivals, display equipment and marketing for local heritage societies, outings for senior citizens, youth groups supported to buy equipment and hire sessional workers, and many more with the average grant award being £480.
Funding is still available until the end of March 2011 but groups are being encouraged to put in applications as soon as possible as the deadline dates are looming on 7 January and 18 February 2011. The Community Grants Scheme will fund both capital and revenue projects which are of benefit to communities in the Stirling Council area.
