Support Available To All ROK Employees

PACE teams are standing ready to help anyone affected by the job losses at Rok across the north and north east of Scotland. Support to help people back on the career ladder is available to all workers made redundant by this week's announcement by the well-known company.

Partnership Action for Continuing Employment (PACE), a Scottish Government initiative, led by Skills Development Scotland, provides the support and guidance necessary to get those facing redundancy back into work or training.

By providing skills development and employability support, PACE aims to minimise the time people affected by redundancy are out of work.

Skills Development Scotland, Jobcentre Plus and other key partners work closely together to create a seamless service, including a dedicated helpline and improved website so that the services PACE provides can reach a large number of individuals and businesses.

Calum MacLean, National Operations Manager for PACE, Skills Development Scotland said: “It is very disappointing that Rok has gone into administration and that this decision has impacted on its Scotland operation. Skills gained in construction industries are fundamental to Scotland’s competitiveness. Our PACE (Partnership Action for Continuing Employment) teams will work with administrators to ensure that Rok apprentices are able to complete their qualification and we are keen to assist all those affected to help to minimise the time they are affected by redundancy.”

Anyone facing or affected by redundancy should call the PACE redundancy support helpline free on 0808 100 1855 or visit www.skillsdevelopmentscotland.co.uk
