Scottish charity, Planning Aid for Scotland (PAS), is running a unique event to open up a dialogue between planners and people working with Gypsy/Travellers. The seminar is being run in partnership with the Scottish Traveller Education Programme (STEP).

Petra Biberbach, Chief Executive of Planning Aid for Scotland, said: “Planning needs to get beyond involving the ‘usual suspects’. It needs to reach out to the most vulnerable and socially excluded in society and address their particular needs.

“Planning isn’t a dry and abstract matter, it’s about how people experience their everyday lives and how they can exercise their rights and responsibilities.

“Our Reach Out programme targets some of the most socially excluded people, including Gypsy/Travellers and other minority groups.

“Scotland’s new planning system is about getting everyone active in planning and PAS is working hard to achieve this vision.”
