Colin Orr MCIAT has been elected as the new President Elect of the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists (CIAT).
Colin is a respected figure within the academic community of Architectural Technology and is course leader and senior lecturer at the University of Bolton. As an active member of the Institute, Colin is currently Vice-President Education, a role he has undertaken for the past seven years.
Mr Orr will take up his new position at the close of the Institute’s AGM to be held in Guernsey on 30 October and will become the Institute’s 25th President in November 2011.
Speaking of his appointment, Colin said: "I am honoured to have been nominated and elected as the next President of CIAT. As the Institute’s international recognition continues, I look forward to strengthening relationships with like minded organisations overseas and creating an extended Architectural Technology community.
"I will, however, not lose sight of issues closer to home and will continue to progress the interests and recognition of our members into the new decade as well as steering the Institute successfully into its 50th year in 2015."
