Building work at the Mill Hill Centre in Kelloholm is complete and construction firm Ashleigh (Scotland) Ltd has handed the building over to Dumfries and Galloway Council and NHS Dumfries and Galloway.
The final installation of fixtures and fittings and checks to ensure that all systems are fully operational will now take place over the next few weeks prior to staff moving into the building.
The new facility will fully open to the public on Monday 6th September 2010 and will incorporate the GP's surgery, Social Work and Customer Services staff under one roof. Existing services will be provided to the public from the present premises until this time to ensure business continuity.
The £1.2M partnership project is a landmark project which sees Dumfries and Galloway Council and NHS Dumfries and Galloway working together to improve facilities for residents in the Upper Nithsdale area.
