A drop in event has been organised in Campbeltown to bring the general public up to speed on the major infrastructure projects in the pipeline.
The event, at Campbeltown’s Town Hall on Wednesday, August 11 from 11am-7pm, will dovetail with ACHA’s Customer Involvement Day, which is being held at the same location from 3-7pm.
This is the second drop in session in the last four months, and aims to attract anyone from Campbeltown and the surrounding area who is interested in hearing first-hand about the biggest financial investment in the town in a generation.
Project team managers and members from Argyll and Bute Council and partners will be present all day to discuss infrastucture projects being undertaken in Campbeltown, including:
· Traffic management proposals
· Kinloch Road regeneration
· ACHA proposals
· Campbeltown Marina
· Town Centre regeneration
· Skykon’s Machrihanish manufacturing facility
Councillor John Semple, Chair of Campbeltown CHORD Project Board, encouraged members of the public to go along to the event.
“This is a time of great transition for the people of South Kintyre, with a number of major projects in the pipeline,” he said.
“These consultation events are organised to give members of the public the chance to come along and see where we are with the plans, speak to the people who will be making them a reality and letting us know what they think of them.
“I would urge all those with an interest in our future to drop in on August 11 and get an update on our ambitious proposals for the town.”
