Lovell has been awarded two contracts totalling more than £13 million to carry out housing modernisation work for Glasgow Housing Association (GHA) over the next 12 months.

Lovell will refurbish 1,250 homes in the north-east and east of Glasgow – including Ruchazie, Cranhill, Milton and Royston – carrying out work worth £5.3 million. The improvement programme will involve the installation of new kitchens and bathrooms and rewiring.

In the second contract, the company will undertake an £8 million external refurbishment scheme carrying out roofing and rendering work to around 500 homes in the north-east and east of the city in areas including Bridgeton, Riddrie and Craigend.

Residents will continue to live in their homes during both improvement programmes with the specialist Lovell resident liaison team playing a key role in ensuring that the work goes smoothly.

The contracts are the latest to be awarded through the framework agreement which Lovell has with GHA to carry out modernisation work to the housing association's stock.
