Leisure bosses have splashed out half-a-million pounds improving Erskine Swimming Pool.
And when it re-opened on Friday July, 16 families were given free entry for a special Fun Day.
The refurbishment includes a new changing village with family cubicles and spacious lockers; a new sauna; upgraded reception area; buggy park and an enclosed glazed spectator area.
Councillor Iain Nicolson, Chairman of Renfrewshire Leisure – the management trust that runs sports and leisure centres locally – visited the pool to see the much-improved facility and the many families who turned up to enjoy the free Fun Day at the pool.
"The £500,000 investment in Erskine Swimming Pool is the first stage in Renfrewshire Council's Building Better Communities initiative," said Councillor Nicolson. “The people of Erskine now have a first-class swimming pool with the accent on quality.
“We have made a big investment in the pool and it shows the council’s commitment to providing top-class sports and leisure facilities for the public."
Joyce McKellar, Renfrewshire Leisure’s chief executive, added: “I saw for myself at the Family Fun Day just how much people – young and old – were enjoying this fantastic upgraded facility.”
