An Aberdeen-based subsea firm is gearing up to mark its 15th anniversary with the announcement that turnover has doubled.

For the year to March 31st 2010, Ecosse Subsea Systems has seen revenues leap from £900,000 to £1.8 million.

Ecosse Subsea Systems was established in 1996 to provide subsea technology, engineering consultancy and specialist expert personnel for the subsea oil and gas markets around the world. The FPAL-registered company moved to its current base at Poynernook Road earlier this year and key markets include North Sea, West Africa, Brazil and the Gulf of Mexico.

The company has an onshore staff of four and is headed by Turriff-born engineering expert Mike Wilson who has 25 years of experience and has worked in countless countries around the globe.

Commenting on the company’s achievements, Mike Wilson said: “We are delighted to report this excellent revenue figure which is testament to the hard work of everyone on the team both on and offshore. We have been rewarded with repeat business from many of our blue chip customers.

“The renewables market is going to be increasingly significant for us in terms of leads and enquiries and we are confident that business from this sector will play a crucial role in the company’s future success.”

Ecosse Subsea Systems will be present at RenewableUK Offshore Wind 2010 in Liverpool on June 29th and 30th.
