Cameron International Award Manifold Contract To L&N Scotland

Engineering and fabrication company L&N (Scotland) has been awarded a seven figure service contract by Cameron International Corporation.

The two year deal, with a one-year option, will see Aberdeen-based L&N work on behalf of Cameron’s Manifold Group on projects in Houston, Angola, Nigeria and Egypt.

A multi-skilled L&N team of up to eight personnel will provide autogenous and orbital welding along with various testing and mechanical installation services. The workscope will include the installation and welding of all control lines along with the testing and flushing of completed systems through to EFAT.

L&N managing director, Alastair Chalmers, said: “This is very good news for our company and will lead to the creation of six new jobs as we seek to replace staff committed to the Cameron contract.

“We have built up a good relationship with Cameron in the last decade and our philosophy of making our skills and key staff as portable and flexible as possible has paid off.

“We hear a lot in Scotland about how we need to adapt to a declining North Sea by exporting our products and expertise and this is a great example of us putting that in to practice.”

L&N operations director, Mike McArtney, added: “Our training and skills matrix played a big part in winning the contract as we were able to demonstrate our staff are competent in a wide range of techniques which are internationally transferrable.

“We have worked with Cameron before but this is a first in terms of the spread of locations and diversity of the projects involved and we are looking forward to the challenge.”
