Developers behind plans for a Portpatrick marina complex are seeking the go-ahead from Wigtown area committee.
The initial proposals lodged three years ago were met with local opposition and rejected by Dumfries and Galloway Council.
However now the plans have been redesigned they have been recommended for council approval.
The scheme includes the installation of pontoons, a harbour office, flats, a bar and a restaurant plus workshop and storage facilities.
The local community council and the Portpatrick Trust have spoken out against the project saying it is "out of character" with the area.
The proposals are subject to the final agreement of Scottish ministers.
