Shepherd Chartered Surveyors has appointed Roddy Cook as a residential surveyor covering East Lothian and the Scottish Borders.
Mr Cook has a wealth of residential surveying experience, having worked for several national surveying practices as well as in local government.
Speaking of his appointment, he said: "I’m delighted to join Shepherd’s at a time of resurgence in activity and interest in the housing market in the south east of Scotland.
“Both East Lothian and the Borders have weathered the storm of recession better than many other parts of Scotland, with demand remaining resilient for homes in both areas and I’m greatly looking forward to playing a part in helping house-hunters secure their dream homes.”
Adrian Stott, partner in Shepherd’s Musselburgh office, said, “I’m very pleased to welcome Roddy to Shepherd. A true professional with a comprehensive knowledge of the market in the south east of Scotland, Roddy is a tremendous asset to Shepherd and to home buyers and sellers in need of sound valuation advice.”
