The former site of Stirling Auction Mart at Kildean East is set to become the home of Forth Valley College's Stirling Campus following a landmark deal between Elphinstone and the college.

Elphinstone acquired the 30 acre Kildean site as part of the United Auctions take over in 2005. Further to consent being granted for the new campus, Forth Valley College has purchased a seven acre portion of the site from Elphinstone to create the college’s new £29 million Stirling Campus. This will replace the college’s existing facility in Kerse Road, Stirling.

The Kildean site is viewed as being particularly appropriate for the new college campus with its attractive riverside setting, good transport links and its accessibility from Stirling city, the wider rural community and the College’s Raploch Campus.

Forth Valley College hope that construction work will begin in August 2010 with the campus opening in April 2012.

Elphinstone said they look forward to working with Forth Valley College to help facilitate the first phase of the Kildean re-development, and plan to use the remaining 23-acre site for a mixture of residential, commercial and retail development.
