Renfrewshire Council has appointed the Apollo Group to carry out a share of their £149million investment programme, which is set to bring 13,000 homes up to the Scottish Housing Quality Standard (SHQS) within the next five years.

Apollo is one of four companies awarded work from Renfrewshire following a rigorous selection process that included price and quality submissions, as well as an interview and site visit to a similar project.

Eamonn McGarvey, regional director at Apollo’s Glasgow office, said: "We are delighted to have been appointed as Renfrewshire Council’s Partner and, as well as delivering substantial community benefits for the people of Renfrewshire, we hope to provide an exceptional service for the Council’s tenants.

"This is an important Partnership for Apollo’s Scotland operation and it comes on the back of a number of other contract wins as well as a series of successfully completed projects for Local Authorities and Registered Social Landlords across Scotland.

"Work on a pilot scheme of homes will start in May where we’ll be delivering the new kitchens, bathrooms, rewiring and heating from our newly established Linwood base, to ensure an efficient, cost effective programme of works."
