A £500,000 catering facility which provides training opportunities for pupils has been officially opened.
Le Bistro at Glencryan School in Cumbernauld caters for pupils with special educational needs and is run by staff and pupils.
Councillor Jim Logue said: "The new building is wonderful and it's good to see that the staff and children have such good facilities to work and learn in.
"This facility truly represents the whole ethos of the curriculum for excellence in building confident individuals and helping them to achieve all that they can. I hope the residents of Cumbernauld make good use of it."
Construction work on the bistro started in February 2009 and finished in late November. It was partly funded by contributions from the European regional development fund.
Councillor Logue congratulated the contractor, Fullwood Holdings, and thanked Angela Moore, the head teacher of Glencryan School for asking him to open the new facilities.
Angela added: "We are delighted to have such a facility. Le Bistro will house the hospitality training for young people, not just attending Glencryan, but across North Lanarkshire."
