Contract Scotland Scoops PQP Accreditation

Contract Scotland, an independent, technical and professional recruitment consultancy dedicated to the Scottish construction industry, has achieved the Payroll Quality Partnership (PQP) accreditation from the Institute of Payroll Professionals (IPP).

The PQP award illustrates the organisation’s commitment to payroll development, and demonstrates that they have reached the standards set out by the IPP in order to provide a compliant and efficient payroll service to the organisation and its clients.

In receipt of their accolade, Contract Scotland has become the first Scottish company, and one of only ten companies across the UK, to receive PQP accreditation.

The PQP accreditation was introduced in July 2006 to provide a standard for performance management in payroll, encouraging organisations to maintain professional competence whilst enhancing and developing payroll skills and knowledge.

To achieve the standard, Contract Scotland had to provide documented evidence of its payroll development, and how this is being used to improve the performance and services of the organisation.

Carolyn Murray, Training and Development Manager at Contract Scotland, said: "In gaining this award it has established our commitment to the payroll and HR functions, the continuous professional development of our staff and the level of service we provide to our clients. We see this as a verification that we are doing things right.

"We are often asked if our systems are accredited when entering into preferred supplier agreements and this proves we are working to the highest standards."

Lindsay Melvin, Chief Executive of the IPP, added: "At the IPP we are constantly aiming to raise the profile of payroll as a profession, and this is made all the more easy when we see such excellent payroll services offered by the likes of Contract Scotland. I would like to congratulate them on their outstanding achievement."
