The Shetland's Building Standards Service, based in Lerwick, is inviting expressions of interest from the professionals within the Building Construction community to participate in a new Focus Group.
Irrespective of whether you are trading as a sole practitioner, or as part of a larger Association, Group or Company, if you are an Architect, Agent, Solicitor, Engineer, Builder, or Builders Merchant trading in Shetland they want to hear from you.
The invitation is also extended to the Emergency Services, acknowledging their work in relation to Fire Prevention and Community Safety.
It is hoped that the work of the group, of up to 12 persons, will help to focus attention on how best we can deliver a robust Building Standards Service to the community. The inaugural meeting will take place in the Islesburgh Community Centre during the first week in November 2009.
In the event that a large number of expressions of interest are received then a random sample will be taken from each category and the nominees invited to serve on the Group.
The focus group will augment the Developers Meetings that are run throughout the year. Those who attended the last Developers Meeting, and are already on the mailing list, will be emailed directly.
