Our Own Premises & Only Directly Employed Tradesmen
We operate from our own premises in Lanarkshire. This means our clients have reassurance that they are dealing with an established and accountable roofing contractor with a permanent base. In an industry where some contractors operate from short term rented units, shared commercial spaces or temporary addresses, our long term premises provide confidence that we are here before, during and long after the works are complete.

Directly employed tradesmen carry out our work. This allows us to maintain control over workmanship, site standards, safety and the overall quality of each project as a result. Our business model is not built around securing work and passing it on to subcontractors.

Sika Single-ply Membranes
Modern Roofing has partnered with Sika, the leading manufacturer of single-ply roofing membranes. Modern Roofing has undergone training throughout our company from managers and estimators to tradespeople in SIKA’s London-based specialist training facility, which has resulted in us becoming an approved and licensed contractor.

Sika membranes are ideal for the renovation of existing roofs that have reached the end of their working life. The lightweight nature of Sika waterproofing will permit the overlaying of the existing roofs without the need to strengthen the structure. Also, the ability of the sheet to breathe entrapped water vapour through the actual membrane itself helps with the drying out of the existing structure.

Metal Roofing Systems
Modern Roofing sources our metal roofing systems from Euroclad, a modern, market-leading business with an established reputation of innovation and quality since its inception in 1981. Euroclad is a leading international supplier of architectural metal roofing solutions to the construction industry.

A very successful method of disruption-free roof refurbishment is by over-cladding the existing coverings, using the latest roof sheeting materials. Modern Roofing has successfully carried out many successful roof refurbishment projects on occupied buildings, while the client has carried on with their operations below.

Liquid Applied Roofing
For the most detailed complex roofs and for corrosion treatment, for many years, Modern Roofing has worked successfully with Sika and Rooflock industrial roof refurbishment systems. Liquid roofing systems create a labour-saving method of waterproofing around challenging roof penetrations, such as rooflights and M & E penetrations. Our supplier’s liquid applied membranes are high performance polyurethane and can be used on both flat and pitched roofs. Liquid applied membranes are cold applied, eliminating the risk of fire in an occupied building during installation and cure to form a seamless waterproof membrane.

Integrity Testing
Modern Roofing provides UK wide electronic integrity testing services, remaining lifespan assessment, and quality control inspections for many roofing systems including single-ply membranes, liquid systems, bituminous felt roofs, hot melt systems and asphalts. Modern Roofing has specialist leak and roof degradation testing equipment that removes the guesswork from leak detection and preventative maintenance. The equipment utilised by Modern Roofing includes thermal imaging cameras, mechanical probes, moisture mapping system, Buckley’s wet roof leak detector and Buckley’s PD40R spark tester.
