Bought a Mole Post for DIY installation, and collected it directly from Aremco without any issue - the post was waiting for me having spoken to Julia previously to check in stock. Post was extremely easy to install and now it’s in place it’s an extremely good deterrent. With the depth of installation, there is no danger of it being ripped out! The quality of the post is first-class and is excellent value when compared to others on the market. Would certainly recommend it!! 5 stars for sure.

BS 8442:2015 compliant
All reflective material meets BS 8408:2005

The resilience and durability of this bollard as recently been tested against a 7-tonne JCB. On the day the bollard was hit time and time again, it took every bit of punishment from the 7-tonne heavy plant in this extreme test and then stood straight back up again. If we had continued the JCB would probably have run out of diesel before the bollard would have stayed down.

This low-speed extreme impact shows just how durable this bollard is. We have also carried out independent high-speed impact testing with MIRA to BS EN 12767 and the bollard passed with flying colours.

Installation - It is super easy to install, just concrete it in and bolt on your chosen bollard.

Size: 925mm high x 370mm wide at its longest x 90mm deep

Material: Rotationally molded polyethylene

Protection: Recessed reflective panels & anti-vandal fixings

Corrosive Resistance: SP1/SP2

Importance of Property Protection in the UK

In an ever-changing world, ensuring the safety and security of your property has become more crucial than ever. Whether it's your business premises, residential property, or public spaces, protecting them from potential threats is of utmost importance.

That's where security bollards come into play. These modest yet powerful structures offer a robust and effective solution to safeguard your property in the UK. Designed to withstand high impact and prevent unauthorised access, security bollards act as a physical barrier, deterring potential criminals and vehicles from causing damage.

From crowded city centres to remote suburban areas, security bollards provide peace of mind, knowing that your property is protected from vehicle ramming attacks, thefts, and vandalism.

Furthermore, with the various types and styles on the market, security bollards can seamlessly blend into any architectural design, ensuring both functionality and aesthetics.

Stay one step ahead in protecting your property by investing in security bollards - a vital component in today's ever-evolving security landscape.

Importance of Property Protection in the UK

The UK is not immune to security threats, and property owners must take steps to protect their assets. Criminal activities such as vehicle ramming attacks, thefts, and vandalism can cause significant damage and disruption. Without adequate protection, properties become vulnerable targets for criminals.

In addition, public spaces and crowded areas face the risk of vehicular accidents, as unauthorised vehicles can easily access these areas. Security bollards serve as a physical deterrent, preventing such incidents and ensuring the safety of people and assets.

Security bollards act as a barrier against unauthorised access and can be strategically placed to control vehicle flow, restrict entry, or create secure boundaries. Their presence alone sends a strong message to potential criminals, deterring them from attempting any illegal activities.

In the event of an attempted vehicle ramming attack, security bollards can absorb impact and prevent the vehicle from causing substantial damage, thus safeguarding lives and property.

Types of Security Bollard

Security bollards come in various types, each designed to cater to specific security needs. The most common types include:

Fixed Bollards
These bollards are permanently installed and provide a high level of security. Fixed bollards are ideal for areas that require a consistent level of protection, such as government buildings, critical infrastructure, and high-security zones.

Removable Bollards

Removable bollards offer flexibility and allow controlled access when required. These bollards can be easily installed or removed, making them suitable for areas that need occasional access, such as loading docks and emergency vehicle entry points.

Automatic Bollards

Automatic bollards are electronically operated and can be raised or lowered as needed. They offer the convenience of remote control and are commonly used in areas with varying security needs, such as car-free zones, car parks, and private driveways.

Decorative Bollards

Decorative bollards combine security with aesthetics, blending seamlessly into the architectural design of a property. These bollards are often used in historical sites, parks, and public spaces where visual appeal is essential.

Benefits of Using Security Bollards

The benefits of using security bollards extend beyond their primary function of property protection. Here are some key advantages:

Enhanced Safety
Security bollards create a safer environment by reducing the risk of accidents caused by unauthorised vehicles. They help to maintain order and prevent chaotic situations in crowded areas.

Crime Deterrence
The presence of security bollards acts as a visual deterrent, discouraging criminals from targeting a property. The physical barrier created by bollards makes it difficult for vehicles to gain access, significantly reducing the risk of theft, ramming attacks, and vandalism.

Customisation Options
Security bollards are available in a wide range of designs, materials, and finishes, allowing property owners to choose options that complement their surroundings. This customisation ensures that the bollards not only provide security but also enhance the overall aesthetics of the property.

Long-lasting Durability
Security bollards are designed to withstand high impacts, making them a reliable solution for long-term property protection. They are constructed using robust materials such as steel or concrete, ensuring their durability and resistance to harsh weather conditions.

Cost-effective Solution
Investing in security bollards is a cost-effective measure compared to the potential losses incurred from property damage or theft. The long lifespan of bollards minimises the need for frequent replacements, making them a worthwhile investment.

Frequently Asked Questions about Manual Swing Gates

Why do I need a Manual Swing Gate?

For security purposes, this reason will then help determine the size and materials needed for the Manual Swing Gate.

If security is your main concern, you will need a strong and stable Manual Swing Gate.

What are Manual Swing Gates generally made of?

Mild steel is a sturdy material and can create highly functional swing gates with security in mind. They would need to be maintained properly to prevent rust.

How do Manual Swing Gates work?

Manual swing gates are less expensive than sliding gates. The main post has adjustable hinges for the gate to be fitted. They are relatively maintenance-free as there is no motor or electronics to worry about.

How Secure are Manual Swing Gates?

Security, as with everything does depend on the size, material, and overall access control you put in place. Sometimes just seeing a gate can deter thieves from entering your premises. The stronger the material, the more secure it can be.

How much do Manual Swing Gates cost?

The cost will depend on the size and material that you require.

What are the advantages of Manual Swing Gates?

With Manual Swing Gates, they can be opened either way, which allows easier access for pedestrians and vehicles approaching from either side. Manual Swing Gates are generally more budget-friendly. They have fewer moving parts, less set-up required, and no floor track, making them cheaper to install.

What is the maximum width of a Manual Swing Gate?

For a single leaf opening 6M, this is measured from between the posts. For double leaf opening up to 12M, again this is measured between posts, and they are generally locked in the centre by either a removable post, fixed post (if you have the space), or a sliding shoot bolt with a padlock shroud. We offer the option of additional posts for locking gates in the open position. All of our Manual Swing Gates are locked employing a shoot bolt and are covered by a shroud, which you can place a padlock below.

Which way should a Manual Swing Gate open?

Ultimately, these should open inwards onto your premises.

Where is the best place to put a Manual Swing Gate?

The best place for this type of gate is at the end of the area (if possible) to be protected, and must be free from obstructions.

Do Manual Swing Gate Posts need to be cemented in?

Not necessarily, but their foundations are more secure than having them floor-mounted (bolted) to a surface.

Frequently Asked Questions about Height Restriction Barriers

What are Height Restriction Barriers?

Physical barriers, such as height restriction barriers, are usually made from steel or plastic and are designed to restrict the height of vehicles passing through them. They are typically used in car parks, garages, and other areas where vehicles need to be controlled for safety and security reasons.

What materials are Height Restriction Barriers made of?

Plastic and galvanised steel are two materials that can be used to make Height Restriction Barriers. While plastic barriers are lightweight and easy to move, metal barriers can provide greater security and are more durable.

How do Height Restriction Barriers improve Road Safety?

As oversized vehicles cannot enter areas where pedestrians or other drivers are at risk, Height Restriction Barriers can provide improved road safety. High-restriction barriers can also reduce accidents that can occur when vehicles collide with low-hanging objects.

What are the Benefits of Using Height Restriction Barriers in Car Parks and Garages?

Parking garages and car parks can benefit from height restriction barriers in several ways, including increased security, better traffic flow, and improved safety. Using height restriction barriers can also help prevent property and infrastructure damage caused by oversized vehicles entering restricted areas.

How can Height Restriction Barriers help with Traffic Control and Management?

Traffic flow can be controlled using Height Restriction Barriers in areas with limited space or safety concerns. Height restriction barriers can also reduce congestion and improve traffic flow by restricting vehicle height.

What Types of Vehicles can be controlled using Height Restriction Barriers?

Cars, HGVs, buses, trailers, and caravans can all be controlled by height restriction barriers. Also, hazardous materials and oversized loads can be prevented from entering.

How easy is it to Install and Maintain Height Restriction Barriers?

The installation and maintenance of Height Restriction Barriers are generally straightforward. Metal barriers are more durable, but require more effort to install, while plastic barriers are lightweight and easy to move. A regular maintenance program can ensure that height restriction barriers remain functional and provide the level of safety and security desired.

What Colours are available?

Red, white, and yellow are some of the colors available for Height Restriction Barriers. In addition to improving visibility, these colors also help drivers identify restricted areas.

Are Height Restriction Barriers Weather Resistant?

The majority of Height Restriction barriers are weather-resistant and designed for outdoor use. To ensure that the barrier remains effective for a long time, it is important to choose a barrier designed specifically for outdoor use and to follow the manufacturer's instructions for installation and maintenance.

What lengths of Height Restriction Barriers are available?

Height Restriction Barriers are custom-made to suit your requirements. The total expanse of a Single Leaf opening is 6M, and up to 12M for a Double Leaf opening. The width of a height restriction barrier is measured from inside to inside of posts.

Can Height Restriction Barriers be locked?

We strongly recommend purchasing an additional post for locking in the open position. When closed, there is a shoot bolt that slides into position, and it is then padlock, this in turn is protected by a shroud for added security.

What should the Height of Car Park Barriers be?

There is no specific car park barrier regulation that stipulates what height these barriers should be. However, the average car park height in the UK generally falls between 2M and 2.5M.

Frequently asked questions about Telescopic Bollards

What are Telescopic Security Bollards?

The telescopic security bollard can be lowered into a ground sheath that is concreted into the ground, making it flush with the surface. The perfect deterrent for commercial garage forecourts. It is also ideal for use in front of garage doors or driveways.

What are the benefits of Telescopic Security Bollards?

They keep people and places safe.

Traffic control is one of their responsibilities. Traffic can be calmed and controlled with telescopic security bollards. Using Telescopic Security Bollards, for instance, you can control access to pedestrianised streets, parks, and other areas while still allowing access when necessary.

Parking spaces cannot be taken with their help. Telescopic Security Bollards are often used by organisations and residential developments to prevent unauthorised vehicles from parking on their property.

Providing a safe and accessible solution, they are a great option. Since telescopic security bollards retract, they are not an obstruction or trip hazard when not in use. Areas with pedestrian access will greatly benefit from this.

Thieves are deterred by them. This type of Telescopic Security Bollard is particularly beneficial to residential customers. This deters potential thieves if it's installed on their driveway.

How does a Telescopic Security Bollard work?

It is not uncommon to install Telescopic Security Bollards relatively deep underground. Their strength is enhanced by this, so they can withstand vehicle impacts.

As soon as the telescopic security bollard is raised, it locks into place. As well as retracting fully underground when not in use, they leave a smooth, flush surface on the ground when not in use.

Where can Telescopic Security Bollards be installed?

The most common places for Telescopic Bollards to be installed are:-

Loading/Delivery bays - Delivery vehicles must not be restricted if an organisation is to operate efficiently. For this reason, telescopic security bollards are ideal, especially in pedestrianised areas.

Parking Spaces - You may find it annoying when people park on your driveway or in the parking space at work. The telescopic security bollards ensure that only the people you authorise can use the parking spaces you allocate.

Driveways - The telescopic security bollards have been fitted to driveways of all shapes and sizes, whether flat or sloped, tarmac or block paved.

How are Telescopic Security Bollards installed?

For installation, you will need the appropriate tools and expertise. Telescopic Security Bollards can be installed on most types of ground. You should therefore ensure that someone professional installs your telescopic security bollards.

What happens if my Telescopic Security Bollard gets hit?

We are proud to say that our Telescopic Security Bollards have a unique selling point compared to others on the market.

Should the part above ground get hit, then this can easily be replaced without the need to excavate the entire unit, therefore saving you both time and money.

Are Driveway Bollards worth it?

The answer is “YES”.

As a homeowner, ensuring the safety and security of your property is of paramount importance. With a rise in crime rates and the increasing need for privacy, it has become essential to take measures to protect your home and loved ones.

One such measure that has gained huge popularity in recent years is the installation of driveway bollards. These sturdy and reliable bollards not only serve as a deterrent for potential intruders but also offer a range of other benefits that make them a must-have for every homeowner.

In this article, we will explore the various reasons why driveway bollards have become a crucial addition to residential properties.

From enhancing security to preventing accidental vehicle collisions, driveway bollards offer a simple yet effective solution that ensures your peace of mind.

So, let us delve into why investing in driveway bollards is a wise decision that will elevate the safety and protection of your home to a whole new level.

The Importance of Driveway Security

When it comes to home security, unfortunately, the driveway often gets overlooked. However, it is an essential area that requires attention. Driveways are the primary access point to your property and are vulnerable to unauthorised access. Without proper security measures in place, your home and its occupants are at risk. This is why driveway security should be a top priority for homeowners.

By installing driveway bollards, you create a physical barrier that prevents unauthorised vehicles from entering your property. This acts as a powerful deterrent, keeping potential intruders at bay. Additionally, bollards provide you with control over who can access your driveway, giving you peace of mind knowing that only authorised individuals can enter your property.

Driveway bollards also play a crucial role in preventing vehicle theft. With the increasing number of car thefts, it is essential to take preventative measures to protect your vehicle. By installing driveway bollards, you create an obstacle that makes it difficult for thieves to steal your vehicle. The mere presence of driveway bollards sends a clear message that your property is secure and well-protected, making it less appealing to potential thieves.

Accidental vehicle collisions are another concern that driveway bollards address. Whether it is children playing near the driveway or visitors unfamiliar with the layout of your property, accidents can happen. By installing driveway bollards, you create a visible barrier that prevents vehicles from veering off the driveway and into potentially dangerous areas. This ensures the safety of your loved ones and minimises the risk of property damage.

In summary, driveway security is of utmost importance to ensure the safety and protection of your property. Driveway bollards are an effective solution by serving as a deterrent, preventing unauthorised access, protecting against vehicle theft, and minimising the risk of accidental collisions.
