The funding by Historic Scotland will go towards assisting the repair and restoration of the structures.
The projects benefiting from the investment are:
• The Battery, Lamer Island, Dunbar (£56,344).
Repairs will be carried out to improve public access. The Dunbar Harbour Trust is transforming the battery and harbour into an adaptive community space that can be used for education, entertainment or leisure.
• Kirkhaven Hall, Glasgow.
The category A-listed former church hall, located in Glasgow's East End, is currently derelict. An investment of over £122,000 will go towards repairing and adapting the building into office space for JGA architects, as well as provide a local training space for organisations in related sectors, whether heritage, sustainable energy or design.

• Cambo Stables, Fife (£280,000).
The fund will go towards repairing the 19th century stable block and provide visitor and educational facilities for the venue. It will also create jobs for skilled craftspeople masons, roofers and joiners during the repair and conservation works.
• Moat Brae House, Dumfries.
More than £300,000 will be invested at the category B-listed property where JM Barrie wrote the novel 'Peter Pan'. The money will go towards its continued redevelopment; the Greek Revival villa is set to be made into a tourist destination and education and storytelling centre.
• Brough Lodge, Shetland.
The building will be redeveloped into a mixed-use commercial venue, as well as offering short-stay holiday accommodation. It will receive more than £460,000 to complete repairs and begin welcoming tourists to the island.
• Dean Castle, Kilmarnock (£500,000).
Urgent repairs will be carried out at the category A-listed medieval castle, including making the building watertight and repairing fallen masonry. The repairs will open up space for public exhibitions and create two stonework conservation apprenticeships.
Welcoming the funding, Cabinet Secretary for Culture, Europe and External Affairs, Fiona Hyslop, said: "Our diverse built heritage plays an important role in towns and cities across Scotland and forms a key part of our cultural identity.
"The recipients of this award showcase the scope and scale of these buildings and investing in their repair will ensure they can open their doors to the public for years to come."
