First Properties At Raploch Housing Development Complete

The first properties at a housing development in Raploch have been officially handed over.

It is the first phase of the £9.3m project completed, which will see a total of 24 new flats created for mid-market rent and two bungalows on the site.

The partnership is being undertaken by four organisations; Cruden Homes (East) Limited, Forth Housing Association (FHA), Raploch Urban Regeneration Company and Stirling Council.

Earlier this month, FHA took control of four two-bedroom and four one-bedroom homes. In total, the Housing Association will be provided with a total of 20 properties for social rent, while 42 homes will be made available for private sale by Cruden Homes.

Johanna Boyd, Leader of Stirling Council, commented: "I was at the groundbreaking ceremony for this site in January and it's great to now see this project coming to a conclusion.

"The houses and flats at Glendevon Drive will be a fantastic boost to our current affordable housing stock and also help to deliver on the Council's key objectives of regenerating communities and delivering more socially rented housing."

Forth Housing Association Chairperson, Margaret Turner, added: "The Association is delighted with the progress on site and our eight tenants are all very happy to be moving into their new homes. We expect to complete our 20 homes for rent by the end of November."

Steve Simpson, Cruden Homes (East) Limited's Managing Director, commented: "The handover of the first properties in the latest phase of development heralds yet another exciting milestone in the on-going regeneration of this popular area of Stirling.

"Cruden remains committed to delivering much needed quality new homes across multi-tenures in Raploch, enhancing what has already become an established, balanced and community spirited residential location."
